Dallas native Anne Winters began her acting career after being scouted at fifteen. For the next three years she juggled school and her serious passion for acting by travelling to and from Hollywood and her home. “After getting picked up by a management company. I traveled back and forth from Dallas to LA for pilot season and callbacks until I graduated high school, then moved out to LA full time”

Eventually her big move paid off, with Winters landing a recurring role on The Fosters. It was the catalyst that helped push her career forward, with her current projects causing Hollywood's heavyweights to sit up and notice.

Starring in Netflix hit series 13 Reasons Why, Anne juggled filming in North Carolina while concurrently filming feature film “Night School” co-starring Tiffany Haddish and Kevin Hart in a different state. “When I was filming Night School I’d be taking red eyes to and from the set, which filmed in Atlanta and "13 Reasons Why" which filmed in Northern California. There have been so many days where I have thought to myself, how am I going to get through this day?

Anne is seriously dedication to her craft. Single day weekends are tough, but imagine adding in work days that can reach up to twenty hours long, with a six hour turn around in between. Looking to the bright side of her situation, Winters chose to push through and make it work for her. “You just have to push through and always do your best no matter how tired you are. No matter where you are in life or what type of career you are pursuing, you're going to feel worn out and tired at times. At the end of the day, it's about pushing through those feelings and remembering how fortunate you are.”

Despite working through the gruelling hours, Anne made the most of her experiences on set and made it a learning ground. “I was really inspired by Kevin Hart on the set of "Night School." I saw firsthand how busy he is and how he manages everything in his life so perfectly. He was flying out every weekend while filming the movie, to go to comedy shows all around the country, yet he would always show up on set on time and as energetic as ever.”

Learning from the best, Winters put her best foot forward and set out to complete her packed schedule without complaint. “As your career grows you're only going to get busier, so it was cool to see that you can do it all if you set your mind to it. I’m always learning from people I work with and taking things away from each project I work on.”

After receiving a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series; Zac and Mia, it seemed that Winter's star couldn't rise any higher. But after completing works to critical acclaim, like Netflix #Realityhigh and 13 Reasons Why, it's easy to see why she is in such demand.

Her latest offering “Night School”, contain a myriad of established comedians and actors, in which Winters plays Mila, a millenial who's attempting to get her GED. “I honestly think this is the funniest movie out right now and it’s a MUST SEE. My character finds herself really having fun and bonding with the rest of the class. How could you pass up on an opportunity to see Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish. They made this movie what it is. Such a dynamic duo!”

Her process for getting into character changes with each role, but Winter's has advice for the studying actor. “It’s different for each project. I always look at a character and try to think of how I can make it my own. I work with my coach, Saxon Trainor, who helps me navigate each script through my character's eyes. Other than that, I would say that having fun and playing around on set is always important. Being open to change and feeling out the scene is how it becomes real on set, no matter how much you prepare beforehand.”

Through years of working her way up the Hollywood ladder, Anne has sage advice for budding actors “Take every opportunity that you feel will help you, not based on money, but experience. Eventually, you will find yourself working on projects that you never would have dreamed you would be a part of. Every success story is different, so create your own!”

Though it can be hard to sift amongst the tonnes of information being thrown at an actor, Winters sticks close to one thing “Being unique. No one else can act exactly like you. So don’t try to be what you “think” a character is, but let the character transform you.”

Anne has made acting her successful full time job, but also has another passion of singing. “Acting is my number one priority, but I also really love singing and just recently released a cute song with my boyfriend Taylor Beau, called Ride My Vibe."

Having other creative outlets takes the pressure off her full time job, but Anne makes no effort to hide her love of acting. “Thankfully, acting is taking up the majority of my time, whether that be reading scripts, memorizing lines, actually being on set, doing press for up and coming projects, etc. I’m still auditioning too which really makes acting my full-time job. I LOVE it!”

You can catch Anne Winters in her latest films Night School with Tiffany Haddish, and Grand Hotel alongside Eva Longoria and Arielle Kebbel.
